carpet cleaner recomendations

So if we decide to actually put our house up for sale we would need to have the carpets cleaned.. We need to do it anyhow before the baby comes.. But was wondering if anyone had someone they could recomend.  How much do they charge etc?

We would need the upstairs living room, down stairs family room and one bedroom..

Re: carpet cleaner recomendations

  • We did it ourselves and were really happy with the results.  We rented the thing from Home Depot and it was $40 (or $60 I can't remember) for 4 hours.  We did our basement, stairs, and one bedroom.
  • We usually use Stanley Steamer (book online and save 10%), but my mom recently rented a Rug Doctor from Super Saver and it was $40 for 24 hours.  We decided to buy a residential Rug Doctor and split the cost between my mom and I because it worked so well!  If you don't want to do it yourself, use Stanely Steamer.  I think for us, living room, stairs, hallway and 3 bedrooms was around $100.
  • I think we may just rent the rug dr for now and have them professionaly cleaned later on.  my cousin rents the basement and has someone got spots down there dont know what hes done.
