Fuel Belt Causing Hip Pain?

Has anyone experienced any problems with a fuel belt causing hip pain? First time I took my fuel belt on a long run, my left hip was KILLING me!

WDYT: Correlation or causation?

Re: Fuel Belt Causing Hip Pain?

  • I've worn a fuel belt for running since 2001 and never had hip pain. But, maybe you are compensating for the extra weight on your hips by changing your gait, and that's causing the problem?
  • The weight very well could be causing the pain. I noticed it when I tried running with a fuel belt, and that's why I stopped wearing them. Now I just stash water bottles along my route before I run.
