Poll: How do "use" your furniture

Do you ever lie on your sofa or loveseat?

When you stand up do you put weight on the arm of the couch/chair/loveseat?

Do you lean on the arms of your chair/couch/loveseat?

Have you ever slept in a chair/loveseat/couch?

Apparently this is not common use of furniture so I feel the need to ask, am I the only one who has ever done these things?

forgot two more questions: have you ever fed your child while sitting on a sofa/chair/loveseat?

Do you believe it's wrong to sit on a sofa while holding a squirming child?

Re: Poll: How do "use" your furniture

  • Do you ever lie on your sofa or loveseat? of course

When you stand up do you put weight on the arm of the couch/chair/loveseat? I don't think so

Do you lean on the arms of your chair/couch/loveseat? Yes, when sitting reclined with my feet along the length of the couch

Have you ever slept in a chair/loveseat/couch? yes

forgot two more questions: have you ever fed your child while sitting on a sofa/chair/loveseat? yes

Do you believe it's wrong to sit on a sofa while holding a squirming child? lmao. Yep. I only sit on the floor. lol. That one cracked me up. Of course I sit on the couch with my son, who can only be described as a squirmy child.

  • Do you ever lie on your sofa or loveseat? All the time, this is usually how we use ours.

When you stand up do you put weight on the arm of the couch/chair/loveseat?I don't know, probably sometimes.

Do you lean on the arms of your chair/couch/loveseat? Yeah, often

Have you ever slept in a chair/loveseat/couch? Our couch is one of our "spare beds" since we don't have a guest room, plus it's where we sleep if one of us is restless to avoid disrupting the other person.

Our couches are from DH's parents house, and we've been using them like this for 4 years. They look like crap, and some of the upholstery is ripped from his parent's dog, but they're certainly not falling apart or weak in any way.

Have you ever fed your child while sitting on a sofa/chair/loveseat? N/A

Do you believe it's wrong to sit on a sofa while holding a squirming child? No. Kids are squirmy. A sofa isn't a playground, but it's also not a piece of fine china. They need to sit somewhere too.

Do you believe it's wrong to sit on a sofa while holding a squirming child? No, but if it was I'd be guilty.

  • Yes to all of the above.

  • the same as basically everybody above, our sofa is the destination of choice for naps (especially when home sick from work!). ?I let the nieghbour kid eat on it (Yay leather! ?It wipes!), and I sit on the arms ALL.THE.TIME.

Do you lean on the arms of your chair/couch/loveseat? on occasion, if we have guests mostly

Apparently this is not common use of furniture so I feel the need to ask, am I the only one who has ever done these things? Nope

  • I swear to god I was told that it's not proper use of furniture to do any of those things and that no piece of furniture could stand up to that kind of use...looks at the 24yo easy chair that is used as a jungle gym by many kids and is perfectly sturdy.

  • Do you ever lie on your sofa or loveseat? Yep, that is what they are made for.

When you stand up do you put weight on the arm of the couch/chair/loveseat? No, I don't need to put weight on them to stand up.

Do you lean on the arms of your chair/couch/loveseat? When I am sitting in it? If it is one of those big chairs then I lay across the arms sometimes.

Have you ever slept in a chair/loveseat/couch? All the time.

Apparently this is not common use of furniture so I feel the need to ask, am I the only one who has ever done these things? I don't know why you think this is an uncommon use of furniture. Anyone I know uses their furniture in this way.

forgot two more questions: have you ever fed your child while sitting on a sofa/chair/loveseat? During the day I feed Ben when I am on the couch.

Do you believe it's wrong to sit on a sofa while holding a squirming child? WTH?

    This poll is weird.
