California Local Needs Some Help!

Hi there,

I'll be heading out to Philadelphia on June 8 for work.  I'll be in classes most of the time in the hotel I'm staying at (on South Broad Street), but was wondering if there are any great restaurants/sites to see within walking distance in case I have any downtime at night.  Also, what has the weather been like out there?  Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Re: California Local Needs Some Help!

  • Page rumdrinx - she's a wise one about restaurants in the city.

Here are some links that might help:

    http://www.phillytour.com

    http://www.ushistory.org/districts/index.html

    http://www.philadelphia.com/attractions/

As far as the weather, it's been sunny and in the upper 70's.  Have a nice time!

  • Thanks so much for your help!!  I'll take a look at the links and pager he if I think I need more help! :)

ps - your son is ADORABLE!

  • what hotel?

what kinds of food do you like?

there were some cool freebie sort of things to do in CC posted not too long ago.  i think one was tour City Hall.

if its a nice day, getting to Old City is a piece of cake, and worth it.

     Hi Francey!
  • definitely hit the liberty bell, independance hall, besty ross house, the constitution center is ok.  You can take a bus tour on one of those double decker buses, never been, but they look like a good time.

City Hall tour, go to the top of william penn (on my list of things to do)

    Penns landing, South Street.

Across the river in Camden is the Adventure Aquirium, has been revamped, supposed to be way better then when it was ran by the state of NJ.

Hope you have a fun time, b/c Philly is more fun when you sleep over!!
