Re: And a DD

  • No surprise.  She is/was so entrenched in her own point of view, having to 'take care of an entire household on her own' and her other dog, Bravo, she never wanted to hear that she was, essentially, completely in the wrong.

Her words: "the problem is not with the dog" said it all.  She didn't even see the dog as being a part of the equation.

  • Aw man, that ass_hole came back and responded and I missed it?

Can someone give me the cliff notes version of what she said?

She basically threw a tantrum, said we were all mean and rude and that it was obvious that her ILs were to keep the dog permanently, that the new dog was purchased a few months ago by her parents and that's why it was okay to get a new dog instead of just keeping the one they already had, oh and that we don't understand her life as a military spouse - there is no way she could possibly deal with all the stress of that AND the other dog.

But it wasn't about the dog, duh.

Oh yes I forgot that part - none of this had to do with the dog.

Also, not sure if you saw her hilarious response to icotana's post. Icotana had a sarcastic post basically saying how rude her ILs were for paying for everything for the dog for 4 years without asking the OP for a dime and then expecting them to take their dog back when they came back to the U.S. OP responded to that saying "Thank you! Finally someone understands me!" LOL

  • Huh, I see.

What a stupid_bitch.  I hope the karma bus comes back to run her over.

  • Oh, and she was all of 19 when she got married and got the dog.

Irresponsible pet owners make me crazy.  It's not an end table; it's a living creature, and if you aren't prepared to do what it takes (either dealing with the regulations of overseas postings or rehoming the dog responsibly), then you shouldn't have gotten the dog in the first place.  And you certainly shouldn't have another one when you haven't taken care of the one you have.

But I suppose when you're a child, you think it's just fine to dump things on Mommy and Daddy and have them take care of it for you.

LOL I did. Add another one to the list who doesn't get sarcasm.

That list is quickly becoming long. Although this case was particularly stupid. At least in your case, although you were obviously being sarcastic, if someone took your post literally at least those few serious posts would have made sense. Icotana's post would have been crazy if she was being serious, so it just made OP look that much crazier for agreeing with her.
  • gee, i can't imagine why she would have DD'd that.  Tongue Tied

She really didn't.  She quoted you and then said something like: 'Thank you, finally someone who understands me'.

Yup she thought you were totally serious and was so grateful that someone finally understood where she was coming from.
  • D#mn my job for keeping me busy lately... I would have loved to respond to that one.
  • I responded to her with "LOL that you think that icotana was being serious"
  • She really said we didn't understand the life of a military spouse?! Wow... and how many of us who responded are just that??
  • No one has C&P'd this Crying, I missed all of her later replies.
  • Wait, it came out that she had gotten a new dog since all of this happened?

I missed the f/u post, but I completely missed that there was a second dog in the equation.  Let me guess, she wanted a cute new puppy and abandoned the old one with the IL's.

  • pardon me if i missed anything here.

but what is a DD? and what is really going on? i'm sorry if i have really no idea.

  • DD = Dirty Delete or Dear Daughter, depends on the context.

I am so, so sorry I missed her f/u.

  • oh thanks. i'm sorry i just got confused.
