Chinese Restaurant on NE side

Okay, my office is addicted to Chinese food.  My problem is that I can't stand the place their fallback restaurant.  It's just not that good (or fresh), IMHO. We're going to lunch as an office tomorrow, and everyone's voted for Chinese.  I'm hoping to find a new place to try...

Can anyone recommend a good Chinese restaurant on the NE side of GR?  Please save me from a lunch filled w/ MSG and mystery meat!!!

Re: Chinese Restaurant on NE side

  • Is XO downtown too far?

We do Scheuzaun in Eastown, because Jim has a 20 year relationship with them.

Hunan (at Leonard and Fuller) for in a pinch take out.

Willa 4.6.06 and Henry 10.18.08 Camp Sinki
  • Apparently, they'd prefer a buffet.  Ugh.  Has anyone been to Ming Ten by Knapp Corners?
  • MMMmm....we just had chinese from China Inn North (N Holland)
    BabyFruit Ticker

Ick! I don't do chinese buffetts. When I worked at the Gardens I know one dept used to go somewhere all the time. I will try to find out for you.

  • I've heard that place is good.  (We need to try it.)  We usually go to China Kitchen on the southside for takeout.  Personally, I'm craving Thai right now, not Chinese.  But, the majority won out.  Maybe I'll try to con M into going out for Thai this weekend.

Normally, I don't either.  Buffets and I don't get along so well.  But, I'm taking one for the team.  Yay.

We used to go there often when I worked at the printing company. I don't recall a buffet there, though.

It was always good food, though.

  • XO downtown is very good.  I've been to Ming Ten by Celebration Cinema when it was under different ownership and it was very good.  Hunan is okay, too, but I don't think they have a buffet.

I've been and I thought it was above average for a buffet.  And they had a really good sushi bar included in the buffet.
