I need a good thriller

I have a co-worker who loves to read suspence/ thriller books. Instead of a gift card, I'd like to ick out a book but don't know much about the genre. Any ideas?

Re: I need a good thriller

  • That's tough unless you know which books she already has or which series she's into (if any).  My faves are Elizabeth Peters, Sue Grafton (who everyone has read), and Patricia Cornwell (only her early stuff) but they're the "popular" authors.  Mystery's not my favorite genre so I'm probably not the best person to recommend a cool book she likely hasn't already read.

  • James Patterson - specifically the Women's Murder Club or Alex Cross series.
  • I do not read too many of those books but I really enjoyed Honeymoon by James Patterson.  I have read several of his books and really enjoyed them.
  • Dean Koontz for a sci-fi thriller and patricia cornwell!
