Re: What did you read in January?

  • I read:

Thanks for Nothing Nick Maxwell by Debbie Carbin- cute, fluffy chick-lit.  She is used to being the one doing the dumping and instead finds her self dumped and pregnant.  A cute read, but typical chick-lit.

The Smart One by Ellen Meister- story of three sisters and their different personalities with a little mystery thrown in.  It was cute and a better read than I thought it would be.  Chick-lit with mystery, I guess.

Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger- loved Devil Wears Prada, hated Everyone WOrth Knowing and this was just eh.  I am glad it was short, so it didn't take up too much time, but it wasn't reading time well spent.  Glad it was a library book and I didn't spend money on it.  Disappointing though because I had loved Devil and I think I might be over her books.

Everything I Needed to Know about Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume by Jennifer O"Connell-disappointed in this one.  It was a collection of essays and because I LOVED Judy Blume's books I though I would love this--not so much!  Not a bad book, just had higher hopes for it.

Dewey by Vicki Myron-book about the cat that lives in a library in Iowa.  I wll admit that I hate cats, so when my book club picked it I thought oh great!  But that little furball won me over and I really enjoyed the book.  Quick read and was about the town as much as the cat, which I found really interesting.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix--halfway done and loving it, of course!
