BR: Ending the Swaddle

Jack is almost 6 months old and we still swaddle him at night. Some people have said to leave one arm out and go from there....other say to keep swaddling until you can't and stop cold turkey. Please offer your tips and suggestions. Thanks!

Re: BR: Ending the Swaddle

  • I was staying with my sister when she was weaning my neice from the swaddle.  She tried to do the one arm thing, and it just seemed to make matters worse.  She finally just went cold turkey.  The first 2 nights were rough, but after that, she slept just fine!  Good luck!

  • We went from a Miracle Blanket to a sleep sack with a swaddling flap. That was much less constricting but still gaver her some sense of beng wrapped. Then a week later we went unswaddled cold turkey. After two days we got some sleep again.
Nobody said life would be easy. Just that it would be worth it.
