Re: Anyone see Benjamin Button?

  • Major No
    Schmaltzy.
    Pointless.
    Interminably slow.
    159 minutes of crap.
I want those 159 minutes back.

<3 No surprise. We have very different tastes, but that's why I love WM. I feel like your alter ego. Haha.

  • Left HugLYBRight Hug

I was destined not to like it.

When I opened up the package and saw it was two discs, my groan was so loud that Mr. Monkey heard it in the other room.?

  • Yes It was long, but I enjoyed every minute (almost) - However, I like really quirky movies. It had a similar feel to movies like Big Fish and Lemony Snicket - fantastical and quirky

I must respectfully disagree. Big Fish?was wonderful, whimsical, and beautifully shot. It was easy and natural to suspend disbelief.

Button?was horrifically plodding and stilted. Where there should've been joy, there was not. It was stiff and cold. The feel wasn't right.?

You and your connections... tsk, tsk.

  • I am a brat.
I am just glad I didn't see it in the theater.
I would probably be really angry.
  • hmm the hubs is acquiring it now.  i'll have to rethink whether we should watch it.
  • FWIW, Mr. Monkey thought Button was stupid.
And he liked Forrest Gump, which I detest.

In my defense, I do like Fincher's other work -- Se7en, Fight Club,?and?Zodiac?were all phenomenal.?

  • i liked the story that the movie was based on. ?i still want to see it, and not even just for brad pitt.

and, of course, forrest gump is one of my all-time favorite movies.?

I <3 Fincher, one of the big reasons I want to see Ben. Button.

  • If you like Fincher like I like Fincher, I guarantee you're going to hate this.
  • meh.  i don't think i will like it.  i didn't like the short story, either, and i usually love f. scott fitzgerald.
  • I thought it was good, but way, way, too long.  it didn't help that a lady behind me was smacking her gum.the.entire.3.fvcking.hours.

but staring at brad made up for it a little.
