House Cleaning

How often do you clean your house?  The whole house.  Dust, organize a bit, floors...etc etc.

I feel our house is pretty clean, but there are times I wish I had more time and energy to focus a bit more on the house.  I read on here that people have a schedule, Mondays is dusting, Tuesdays laundry.  I can't do that.  When I clean, I need to do the whole house at once.

I try to get everything done once a week, but sometimes with work and other things that might come up that doesn't happen.

  • I found Clean Mama's cleaning schedule to be helpful:

  • I do the whole house weekly. Breaking it up into pieces is a great plan if you don't have a big chunk of time. Some weeks, the shower doesn't get scrubbed or the floors don't get mopped if I'm too busy. Laundry, dusting, sheet changing, and vacuuming are my priorities. The other things can be done every two weeks if needed. Monthly I make sure to scrub the bathrooms top to bottom (ceilings and all), wash the comforter and dog blankets (and the dog), wash out the water filter, coffee maker, change the furnace filter, dust baseboards, and scrub the kitchen (again top to bottom). I always keep the counters wiped down daily and sink sanitized. It's much easier to keep up on if it doesn't get too bad to begin with, but some times you just have to accept that good enough is good enough.
