How long did you date your s/o?

Before you slept together? For us it was 1 week. It could have been sooner but I did not have any protection :-(

Re: How long did you date your s/o?

  • A few months.

  • For us, it depends on when you start to count us dating.  Was it when I gave her the key to my apartment in January, when we fooled around on the 4th of July (second base), or when we "officially" started to date again in early August.  So the answer is anywhere from almost a year from when we met to just a few weeks after "getting back together".
  • a few months we waited. I made him wait, which was not my style the several people before him. But I was not looking for anything serious and I just wanted to be sure he didn't want me for that. I felt that if we were going to 'do it' it should be on my terms. We waited and it happened and it was so romantic, similar to that of a first time experience. It was ON after that! I always wonder if 'giving it up' before marriage made the difference in how long he waited to propose. I don't think so but you never really will know. He proposed almost 4 years later.
  • Our 5th date = 5 weeks from the first date.  After that, we were pretty much inseparable.

  • I think it was 6 months? We did "other things" but not sex. I made him wait though, he wanted to do it I think only after 2 weeks? I guess I'm a bit old school in the fact that I wanted to be in a pretty serious relationship before going that far, but not so old school to wait till after marriage...

  • 3 weeks. He wanted to sooner and in fact asked me to sleep over after a week with promises to be a good boy. I was unsure but didn't want to leave and eventually just fell asleep. My mom didn't believe me the next day that we truly had just slept! In addition to not wanting to rush things, I wanted it to be on a night where neither of us had to do anything the next morning so we could have a sleepover and spend the day together. I'm a little over the top when it comes to planning stuff, lol. While it doesn't seem that long in hindsight, those 3 weeks were torture (we saw each other a lot), but I was glad we held off.

  • a few months for us.  it would have been sooner but DH wanted to wait until he was ready to say "i love you".  It had been so long for me I was very well ready within the first month, LOL!

  • We met while with mutual friends at a bar so not a date. We did nothing that night but dance. Two weeks later he took me to dinner. I slept in his bed but we did not have sex. A week later we had another date and I did have sex with him. We still were not officially dating. A month after the first night we met he said he was very scared because he was already very much in love with me and we officially started dating then because I was in love with him as well. So technically we had sex a week after our first date but were not exclusive until a week after that.

FWIW I moved in with him two months after our first date. We had been dating 8 months when we got engaged and were married on our two year dating anniversary.

Love has no timeline. When you know you know and every couple is different because everyone has a different history and future.

  • It took us about one year of us dating before having sex. I wasn't ready until then and DH was ok with waiting. We did take things fairly slow that first year. I don't think we started fooling around until 6 months or so.
  • FI and I were in a long distance relationship. Started talking/became friends in 2004. Realized we had feelings for each other Dec 2007. He came out to Cali (where I am from) in Feb 2009. We met for the first time ever in person, had sex for the first time (for both of us) the week he was here to visit.

Moved to NY Sept 2010. Wedding is in Feb 2014 =)

We had been dating a couple of months and one day he told me me be couldn't resist the sight of my camel toe through my swim suit any longer. And yes I was naive and didn't realize why anyone would look .Wasn't long until my swim suit was off and he kept kissing lower and lower and onto all my lady parts . I was half mortified , half curious and half horny . I heard heard bits of rumours about being gone down on but didn't know much . I did know after three screaming orgasms that it felt pretty good. And I wanted more.

Second occasion after he went down on me I felt obligated to try my first BJ. I wasn't too sure what to do but he undeniably enjoyed the experience. I had not seen, felt, smelled or tasted such before or knew there could be so much. I was surprised but carried on. I didn't know there was a spitting out option but he was so impressed that I swallowed and it wasn't all that bad. Oral is as good today as it was then.
I went on the pill and finally seduced him one day. I was sorely disappointed there was no orgasm with him thrusting. However somehow I ended up straddling him from on top and wow that worked. DH saysI rode/still ride him like a rented mule.
In all honesty however I still think we should have waited for the honeymoon.
  • We met online and had been talking for 2 months while I was home for the summer.  We went on our first date when I returned for the fall semester.  I was a virgin and hadn't been in a relationship for a long time, we started making out and one thing led to another and he went down on me on our first date.  I still can't believe I let it happen, but it was great.  I felt bad cause I didn't do anything for him for a few weeks.  I wanted to have sex sooner but he wanted to wait till he felt we were more serious since he knew I was a virgin.  A little over a month and a half later we were laying there watching a movie and he kinda took over.  Parts of me wish we would have waited till the wedding but two years later we are married and I wouldn't have done anything different.

Beyondwords106   Sounds like both our men put our satisfaction  ahead of their own. I hear so many instances that are otherwise...................I'm so lucky, DH always makes certain I orgasm first.

  • @lifeguard Yes it sounds like they definitely put our needs ahead of theirs.  He always makes sure I get mine before he does.  I felt bad a couple weeks ago for some reason I couldn't get off no matter what he did.  I think I was just stressed.  He got his twice but he felt bad he couldn't do anything for me.  Thankfully that's the only time I've ever had that problem.

And he had the same issue too when we first started dating. I started shaving like you said and he likes it a lot better :)

beyondwords106  How did your man coax you into doing something really odd for the times  like shaving your lady parts ? Or was this recently when Brazilians etc have became normal for even soccer moms?  I think my man was partly acting and partly having an honest reaction by removing a hair or two from his tongue while making a sputtering sound.

  • We dated 5 months before we got married, but we waited for marriage.
  • Our first time was our wedding night. So it was just under three years. We were both virgins so it took a few times before it felt good for me but now it's amazing ;)

  • For us it was 3 months... And that was a lot for me.
Don't be too worried about the non-protection and go to the doctor just to make sure everything is right.
  • About 5 months.
  • Right after our 3rd date...it was inevitable. When he took me home after dinner, I invited him in. I had just moved into my apartment so I didn't have a couch or anything in the living room so we sat on my bed to talk. Things just kind of went from there. We have been inseparable ever since!

  • My husband and I are both really old fashioned so we waited until we got married. Brace yourselves, we waited about 5 1/2 years to have sex. Say what you will, but it worked for us and I wouldn't have done it any differently.

    Definition of "sex" ?

  • @lifeguard ;

I am assuming by asking what my definition of sex is, you are asking what we actually abstained from before marriage. Pretty much everything. We kissed and made out, but nothing more. Nobody ever believes me, but it's the way we decided to do things. Again, I know that the majority of people will think that this is crazy, but I think it's just as fair as deciding to have sex before marriage.

    It's a matter of definition....................."Making out "?

    Wikipedia ...

    Characteristics

Making out is usually considered an expression of affection or sexual attraction. An episode of making out is frequently referred to as a "make-out session" or simply "making out," depending on the speaker's vernacular.[8] It covers a wide range of sexual behavior,[9] and means different things to different age groups in different parts of the United States.[1] It typically refers to kissing,[2] including prolonged, passionate, open-mouth kissing (also known as French kissing), and intimate skin-to-skin contact.[1][2] The term can also refer to other forms of foreplay such as heavy petting,[2][3] which typically involves some genital stimulation,[10] but usually not the direct act of penetrative sexual intercourse.[2][3][11]

The perceived significance of making out may be affected by the age and relative sexual experience of the participants. Teenagers sometimes play party games in which making out is the main activity as an act of exploration. Games in this category include seven minutes in heaven and spin the bottle.[12]

Teenagers may have had social gatherings in which making out was the predominant event. In the United States, these events were referred to as "make-out parties" and would sometimes be confined to a specific area, called the "make-out room".[13] These make-out parties were generally not regarded as sex parties, though heavy petting may have been involved, depending on the group.

  • @lifeguard ;

I'm sorry, I am having a hard time figuring out what you are getting at. I would rather you just come out and say it instead of throwing Wikipedia quotes at me.

    I think she's calling you a slut.

    Just kidding.
I'm sorry, that joke was in poor taste.

But, no need to worry about justifying your decision to abstain until marriage. It worked for you and your H, and that's all that matters.

  • @Mrs.Rad888

I don't feel a need to justify my decision at all. I am completely confident in it. That's why I am not sure where this conversation is going. But I guess I will just wait and see what @lifegaurd has to say.
  •   I'm asking what your definition of "making out" is. I've heard quit a few girls say/brag they were so pure and virginal at their marriage but their definitions were rather "liberal".
