  • I've heard of them. I want to eat them. But I've never had them. Aren't they just like rice crispy treats but popcorn instead?

  • @islandmonkey8 Pretty much. I've been trying to find a good recipe for them, but they're always too hard when I make them. It makes me sad, because they're by far my favorite Halloween treat.

I made this for Valentine's Day earlier this year.

It was nice and gooey at first, but firmed up fairly quickly. Pulling hunks of marshmallowy popcorn out of the bowl over the next couple of days was still possible though.

    Would popcorn balls be similar?

  • I've had these, but at Christmas when I was a kid. My grandmother used to buy the packaged ones and hang them on the tree....yum.

Yes, please post recipe if you find a good one ;)

  • @luckyangel07 Popcorn balls would be similar to that. That recipe is different than the one I've tried, so I may have to give it a shot.

  • Heard of? Yes. Actually had? No.  But don't go by me for what's normal; I never even had a Cadbury egg until about two years ago lol.
    imageimage
  • I'm generally not a fan of popcorn balls.  Are these different than normal popcorn balls?

I will only eat popcorn balls when they are not in the shape of a ball. I will sit on them, smoosh them with my books, do whatever it takes to break it into smaller pieces (i before e, except after c..).

So in general, I feel they take more effort than they are worth.

@zamboni00 They're typical popcorn balls, but they were always handed out during Trick or Treat around here.  Now that I'm too old to Trick or Treat, I miss out. So I'm trying to find a recipe to make them, but have yet to find a decent one.
