Cooking question

I have a recipe for a 4 lb roast.  It says to cook it in a crockpot on low for 10 hours or in an oven for 4 hours.

I used a 2.5 lb. roast and I'd like to eat it after 5-6 hours of cooking.  I have it in the crockpot on high and I figured I'd turn it to low at some point.  any ideas?

Re: Cooking question

  • my crockpot always cooks significantly faster than it says it will. I always turn things to low about half way through the cooking time
  • I find a 2.5 lb roast on high will cook in about 4 hours in my cooker, so I'd keep an eye on it.

PS - I am the one who recommended the WS slow cooker book - just now catching up on my Nesting. Glad you like it!
