Humor me please - House Poll

If you could change one thing about your home what would it be?

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want?

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights?

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?

What do you think about double ovens?

If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? The stupid hill it sits on. Our back yard sucks.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? We have silver/chrome/stainless steel (whatever they are called). I am happy with them but I certainly wouldn't complain if they were oil rubbed bronze.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? We do not. I have more of a problem being too hot in our bathroom than cold. DH and his hot showers make it way too humid.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?  If cost and space was not a factor I'd love a claw foot tub. Ours is just a garden tub and there are days I wish it had jets.

What do you think about double ovens? I think for hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner they are great. For the rest of the year they would be a waste of space for me.

  • If you could change one thing about your home what would it be?

    proximity to neighbors house

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want?

Have - brushed nickel, want - oil rubbed bronze

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights?

The lights definitely heat the place up.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?

Have jets, but very rarely use them and would prefer not to since I never feel like they are clean enough

What do you think about double ovens?

I would like them twice a year, but would otherwise go unused

If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? Other than the improvements/renos we plan on doing, I can't think of anything I don't like...I love the size, layout, location, and amount of land we have.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? We have stainless steel in the kitchen. We plan to do oil rubbed bronze in the bathrooms.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms? No? There is a vent for the central H/A in each bathroom.  Are they fans or lights?

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding? We have a garden tub, I think a nice big jetted tub would be nice but we plan on taking the tub out and just having a huge shower in our master. I'm totally okay with not having a master bath tub, it's wasted space IMO.

What do you think about double ovens? Nice for holidays but definitely not a necessity..

If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? I'd have more of a plan on what I wanted for my landscaping, and I'd put trees in the backyard before I put up my fence.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? ORB

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? No

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?  We have a claw foot tub.  It's hard to get in and out of, but I love the way it looks.  Sometimes I wish we had jets since H has been having back issues and it would help for him to have them.

What do you think about double ovens? I've used them a lot.  I've also hosted every holiday the past two years we've been here.  I like that I can get cookies/cupcakes done in half the time, and I don't have to plan the order in which to cook things.  Everything can just be done at the same time.

  • you could change one thing about your home what would it be? bigger; but since it is not our forever home its not that big of a deal

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want?  when we first moved in (4 weeks ago) the cabinet hardware and door knobs were gold and the faucets were stainless but we are now in the process of changing out everything to oil rubbed bronze.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms? No-we have central heat and air vent in both bathrooms  Are they fans or lights? n/a

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding? is a garden tub with out jets but have a freestanding shower.

What do you think about double ovens? when we build our forever home I may get them. They may not be used all the time but I want them when I need them. I feel as though they are worth the investment.

  • If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? We don't have any windows in the main living area that open :(

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? They're dark, bronze/brass- ish. IDK the name of the color. I like them though.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? No heaters

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?  Jets. I almost never use it, but H has used it a few times.

What do you think about double ovens? I think they're great in the right house! Our kitchen is probably too small for a double oven, and I don't think I would use it very often.

  • If you could change one thing about your home what would it be?

Floorplan. I really wish I would have stuck to my original floorplan. I need windows in the entry way so light can flow through. I have a lot of windows across the back, but none in the front that aren't in bedrooms.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want?

    Oil rubbed bronze.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights?

No. I wish I did though. I think I would have wanted a fan.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?

    Jetted and built in.

What do you think about double ovens?

I wish I had them. If you plan on having holidays at your house, I would get them.

If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? Bigger square footage with atleast an extra room and a study

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? I like the oil rubbed bronze

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? No heaters, but that would be great.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?  I like my garden tub. I think having a jetted tub would be nice, but you have to clean out the jets reguarly or they get realy junky.

What do you think about double ovens? I wish I had the space for double ovens. It's on my wishlist.

  • If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? It would be two-story instead of one. No particular reason, I've just always wanted to live in a two-story house.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? We have brass. We want stainless/nickel.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms? Are they fans or lights? Nope.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding? Built-in with jets. I love it.

What do you think about double ovens? Want! We currently have very dated appliances, with only one small oven, but it's part of the overall plan to renovate/upgrade.

  • If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? Our lot. I wish we had a few acres. But if we're talking actual home... umm, I wish it was bigger, honestly.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? I have brushed nickel. Right now I dig rubbed bronze.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? No

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?   I thought I wouldn't like having the jets, but I actually do like it. I prefer built-in.. a little more space-efficient.

What do you think about double ovens? An absolute, 100% must in our next home.

  • I guess I will answer my own questions too.  :)

If you could change one thing about your home what would it be?  Not real sure, hopefully not too much.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? I think we will probably go ORB, but I worry about hard water stains.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? I am requesting a heat fan in our master.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?   I think we will definitely go without jets but I need to decide if I want a free standing tub or not.  I better get on that ASAP!

What do you think about double ovens? An absolute, we will have them.

  • This ORB trend is interesting. Is there a reason everyone seems to be nuts about it? Just a preference in aesthetic?

I like it because it doesn't show spots like stainless steel does. We had stainless in our rent house and I think ORB is much easier to keep clean. Just my opinion though.

For me it's just personal preference (and DH agrees so that's a bonus:)), I think they look nice and they "fit" with the look of our house. We have ORB outlet covers, light switch covers, and light fixtures (dining room and entryway, we'll replace the rest eventually) and I love them. We'll eventually have ORB hardware/faucets.

Me too. Our new house will have a ceiling fan and I cannot wait.

  • If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? The kitchen. Hopefully that will happen summer 2013. It's a great space with tons of storage and countertop area; it just needs to be cosmetically updated.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? Haha. We have brass doorknobs throughout the house, but nickel/chrome/stainless faucets. Then, the master bath was renovated and it has ORB faucets and hardware.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? Yes, fans.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?  House built in 1974 -->no master bath tub, just an oversized shower. Built in with no jets in guest bath.

What do you think about double ovens? Love them. We have a double.

  • If you could change one thing about your home what would it be? I probably would go back in time and NOT BUY IT. But, alas, I can't do that. So, I'll say the backyard, as it needs major work.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want? I prefer oil rubbed bronze for hardware, and brushed nickel for faucets.

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights? One has a fan with a light, one has a heater and that's all it is.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?   There is no master bath tub. Too small a space.

What do you think about double ovens? I think it's great, IF you have the space, the design/height makes sense, and you actually cook enough to justify two ovens.

I agree with the other 2 post. Our house is rustic/french country and ORB just looks better so it is mainly personal preference.

If you could change one thing about your home what would it be?

The size.  I really wish we had at least one more room.  And the depth of the laundry room.  I can't close the laundry room door because my dryer is too deep.

What "color" of hardware/faucets do you have/want?

I like brushed nickel or oil rubbed bronze

Do you have heaters in your bathrooms?  Are they fans or lights?

We had a light heater in one bathroom and a fan in the other at the old house and I hardly ever used them.  S did occasionally though.

Master bath tub...  Jets, no jets, built-in or freestanding?

This house has jets.  I don't like them.  I don't have a preference for built in or freestanding tubs.  I don't use a tub though, so we put one in just for resale.

What do you think about double ovens?

I bake a ton and m cooks a lot too.  I would use a double oven probably 5 times a week.  Next house might not have a double since we won't be in it too long, but next next will for sure!
