one else's dog play by themselves?

My husband and I will be sitting on the couch, or I'll be cooking or folding laundry, and all of a sudden we hear a thud in the living room or in our bedroom.  I go to investigate, and there is Gunner... tossing his bone around the room, then fetching it for himself, then tossing it again.  Then Rolling on it, and tossing it etc.  The MINUTE I pick up my phone to record him he looks and me and runs over to me w/ his tongue hanging out... stinker...

Re: one else's dog play by themselves?

  • haha yup! Creek wants to play ALL THE TIME and the other two don't usually. She'll do the same thing with tossing her toys up in the air. She's so funny to watch!

  • The top of our stairs are open to the foyer. Chilly has been known to throw her toys off the top & run down the stairs to try & catch it.

My parents dog does this.  We accidentally taught her this when she was a puppy.  We used to sit at the top of the stairs and throw the ball down into the entry way.  Maggie always waits until the ball bounces off the wall and down the hall before she chases it.

  • Our dog does this - super cute and I love watching her :)  We're still working on getting a video - they know when they're in the spot light!

  • Bently did this before Petey came to live with us. He would get pouty when the kitties wouldn't play with him, so he would toss a toy in the air to entertain himself.

Or he would chase the tags on his collar. He's, um, special.

  • Our female ALWAYS wants to play ! So if her brother doesn't want to play with her she just gets a ball or toy and plays on her own. amazing how much noise 1 dog can make playing alone !

  • And yes...Louie does this too. We got a little video of him doing it, but only until he figured out he was being taped!
