Any Runners Here?

Hi ladies,

This board is pretty slow ( I always forget to check it) but I was wondering if there are any ladies here that are training to run any races coming up? I am a serious beginner planning to run the Cupid's Chase 5k in Feb... Anyone else running that one?

Re: Any Runners Here?

  • I'm a pretty "newish" runner as well. I started running in January 2010 and ran my first 5K in April 2010. I used the Couch25K method and it was fantastic for me. I trained hard and ran my first 10 mile last October, but since then have fallen off the wagon pretty hard. Right now, I'm finally back in the training saddle and excited to be training for my first half marathon in October. Yesterday was my 6 mile and I feel good about it.

Keep running, girl! You can do it. It's tough, but it's worth it when you cross that finish line.

  • I'm a runner, but am too big of a snob to pay for 5ks ;-)  I ran the Chicago Marathon last year and am running NYC this November and Disney in January.  I typically only race long distance b/c I am too impatient for the 5k crowd.  A February race will be freezing, but the themes are always fun!  Good luck training and have fun! :)

    Recent Races:
Chicago Half Marathon 9/11/11: 1:58:11 (PR)
Race for the Cure 10k, Chicago 9/24/11: 51:52 (PR)
ING New York City Marathon 11/6/11: 4:13:16 (PR)
  • Wow you ladies are pretty incredible lol. I can only dream of the days when I will be running marathons! I am doing C25K now and I am liking it so hopefully I stick with it... Even when it gets so freaking cold this winter lol.
  • I might be into that.  I have a list of things to do before I turn 30 on April 29, 2012.  One of those things is to run a 5k.  So, if I can get myself off the couch I could be in!

  • Try C25K, I love it! If you have a smart phone the app is so worth the four dollars lol! I did the first week but I think I am going to redo it. I am starting over tomorrow so its never too late to join in!
