What did you read in JULY?

Re: What did you read in JULY?

  • I've read 35 so far this year.  Goal is 50. Will probably hit 60.

July was slow as we had guests for over a week.  I couldn't ignore my guests.  :P

    Hourglass - 2 stars

    Delirium - 5 stars

    Forever - 2 stars

    Starcrossed--Josephine Angelini (4 stars)

The Subtle Knife--Philip Pullman (2 stars)

    Dead Reckoning--Charlaine Harris (3 stars)

    Lover Awakened--JR Ward (4 stars)

    A Touch Mortal--Leah Clifford (2 stars)

I'm at 64/75 for the year. I just upped my goal from 50 to 75 since I'd read over 50.  Might up it to 80 as I get closer to 75.

Midnight in Death - JD Robb - 3 stars

I've read  50 for the year, so I'm 15 behind my 111 goal according to Goodreads.

  • I didn't read all that much in July.  My daughter is getting ready to start college and we've had a thousand things to do for that.  Also, Ben has started skipping naps here and there, which is when I do a bit of reading.  I'm hoping that was just a phase.

    Here's what I read:

Life As We Knew It - Susan Beth Pfeffer

The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath

    American Wife - Curtis Sittenfeld

    The Giver - Lois Lowry

  • I only read three this month - A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  Only 3 books... but over 3,000 pages!!!

I'm at 25 for the year, still slugging along at the same slow pace compared to last year.  Eh well.

    52 Books in 2014??

  • Dawn: Return of the Goddess by Joseph Michael Linsner
Dawn: Three Tiers by Joseph Michael Linsner
Hellsing Vol. 10 by Kohta Hirano
Love Hina Vol. 4 by Ken Akamatsu
Neon Genesis Evangelion Vol. 2 by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto
Something from the Nightside by Simon R. Green
A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future by Daniel H. Pink
    Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf

The Dawn books are really amazing.  They're quite deep and religious.  I trudged through Nightside because DH said they do get better.  A Whole New Mind is a great book.  It really gives you insight into how to improve your r-directed thinking and how to apply it to your job.  Mrs. Dalloway took forever to read.  I think it was her writing style and the fact that it has no chapter breaks.

That brings me up to 63 books.   Which makes up for my lack of much progress in June.  I just hope this month can get as much progress made.
