Where does your dog sleep?

I am sure we have done this a million times but I am curious!

Clementine just started sleeping in the bedroom with us on an oversized pet bed.  I really didn't want her on the bed, but this is a good compromise.  She is crated during the day in the living room.

Re: Where does your dog sleep?

  • Both, one on the bed (our baby) and the other on the floor (for hair issues)

  •   We have a few extra bedrooms that we do not need to they share a bedroom.  We have 2 dogs and they each sleep in their own crate.

  • Carl (and Owen, when he's home) sleep on the bed (I badly need a King size), and Reese sleeps either on a dog bed on the floor next to my bed, or on the couch in the living room (she's allowed to sleep on the bed, but chooses not to).
  • On the couch in the living room
  • Fetch is allowed to sleep on the bed (only after asking for our permission) but he generally doesn't. We don't adjust out of our comfortable sleeping positions for him, so he frequently decides that he's much more comfortable on his bed and and a giant body pillow on the floor. He will come up in the middle of the night or after DH leaves for work.

  • Paisley sleeps in her crate in our bedroom. We also have a soft crate in the living room that we crate her in while we are away and where she chooses to sleep in during the day when she's tired.

  • Cookie and Arabella sleep in crates in our guest bedroom. Sicily also has a crate in the guest room that she is in during the day. But she has a wire crate in our bedroom that she sleeps in at night.

  • Zoey is allowed to sleep wherever she wants - usually when it's cold she'll sleep in the bed, but when it's warm she'll sleep in her crate or on the floor.

Dozer usually sleeps in his crate just because of how big he is and how closely he likes to snuggle (smother) you. Occasionally if we're not that worried about getting a good night's sleep we'll let him sleep in the bed with us.

  • Dexter sleeps on our bed and Quincy sleeps in his crate in our bedroom.  We're thinking about not letting Quincy on the bed at all, even after he's ok to sleep out of his crate.  But I'm sure we'll cave. lol.

  • Biscuit starts out on our bed but gets down and get on her bed which is next to our bed. Hank sleeps way down burrowed under the covers or right next to our heads.

  • Both our pups have their own beds in the living room. We don't crate them to sleep. Sable is crated during the day, and Roxie thinks every crate she has ever seen is going to eat her.

If DH is out of town, they sleep in the bed with me. If it's the weekend we generally leave the bedroom door open and they wander back and forth between the living room and the bedroom at night.

  • Milhouse has to start the night in his dog bed, next to our bed, but usually magically winds up between us by the time we wake up.

  • Kali's a complete snuggle bug and sleeps with us.  Jake sleeps in his crate in the living room.

  • 95% of the time, Bently sleeps in his crate on DH's side of the bed. Sometimes he'll get to sleep with us on weekends if he's acting decently and hasn't just raided the cat box.

  • When we first got him we had him sleep in the crate.  Just this week we started to let him sleep on his pillow or floor beside our bed.  We leave the crate open for him to go there if he wants.

  • All 4 sleep in beds on the floor in our bedroom...they have such a routine that they come upstairs and retire for the day into their designated bed. It's hilarious! Typically though, as soon as DH gets out of bed in the AM Ellie is begging to snuggle and Zeus just invites himself to the party while the other 2 continue snoozing! :)
  • Rusty sleeps in bed with us all night.  Cody snuggles with us at first and then usually sleeps on his bed or in the living room for most of the night.  He comes back up with us in the early morning.

  • Harley sleeps on her bed on dh's side of the bed.  Our cat Emma was the only pet that slept in the bed with us.  She was sleeping in the bed with me for 10 years before dh entered the picture, so there was no changing that setup - she and I had a little routine.  At 8 lbs. she took a whole lot less space than Harley would, and she managed to take up more space than you would think.

I like having our bed just be for dh and I, so I don't forsee any other pets sleeping with us on a regular basis.

  • Keefer starts on my pillow for a few minutes, then he moves around at night between the tile floor in the bathroom, up against the tub, up against the toilet, in the crate, up against the bed in front of his fan, etc.  A few times I've found him in the shower too.  He likes the cool spots and he definitely likes to move around.

lol at finding the dog up against the toilet and in the shower.

Dexter must be the only dog that stomps around loudly.  Anytime he gets off the bed it's all "THUD" and then click-click-click as he walks around the room.  It wakes us up.  I guess that's one of the drawbacks of wood floors, but it was loud even when we still had carpet.

  • Our lab Willow sleeps in a crate in the living room and the Murph sleeps on the floor in the living room/entrance way into the apartment.
  • Koda- Starts on our bed/floor and then goes downstairs on the floor usually.

Titan- Just started a crate in our room for 1/2 the night and then the crate downstairs after his mid-night potty break.
