If you have high arches

What shoes do you wear?

I have been fitted for running shoes, but no matter what I feel like I keep "pulling" the arches in my feet. It happens all the time. It always feels like there is a strain in my arch, like they are not supported well. I am bringing back my shoes this week. It is annoying because the closest running shoe place is an hour away.

I know I have had shoes that have worked in the past, but cannot remember what brand. Suggestions?

Lucky to have a beautiful, healthy boy. Born 3/30/08 and precious baby girl born 6/23/10

Re: If you have high arches

  • I have slight overpronation and a high arch. I am currently in Mizuno Wave Elixir with a Lynco Orthotic 400 style. Best combination for me and my foot that I have tried.

I'd suggest just going and trying tons on in the store. Maybe try an insole for your current shoes?

  • have you tried green superfeet?  I have high arches and I love my superfeet.
  • i use custom orthotics.

  • Asics 2160s with Green Superfeet inserts.  The Superfeet were uncomfortable the first maybe 10 miles or so (not all the same run), but after wearing them around the house for a few days, I got used to them and haven't had any issues with my arches since.
