Dog birthday cake

I wanted to make my Boston Terrier a cake for her 10th bday tomorrow but I want to be sure it is healthy and doesn't make her sick. I found this recipe online. Is it healthy? If not, does anyone know a recipe that is or where on the net I can find a healthy one?  TIA!

1 cup white or whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded carrots
1 tsp vanilla
1/3 cup honey
1 egg

Preheat oven to 350?F (180?C)

Mix together flour and baking soda. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a ring mold sprayed with a nonstick spray for 40 minutes.

Frost this cake with low fat cottage cheese and decorate with carrot pieces. Store in refrigerator.

Re: Dog birthday cake

  • Sounds more or less like the cake I made Brooke for her birthday, with Jason/RockysGirl's recipe. Brooke *loved* the cottage cheese frosting.

    Happy 10th to your pup!

  • AHHHHH my Bradley (husky) turns 6 tommorrow.  I will have to tell him about his birthday twin!  Hope the cake turns out fabulous!
  • I made a giant meatball cake and used sweet potato frosting. It was just ground beef, 1 egg, and some whole wheat breadcrumbs. I baked it for about 30 min until finished, and topped it off with mashed sweet potatoes (nothing added to them). He ate it in 3 minutes.
