Meals for a new mom

So my sister had her baby on Monday! I am so excited and he is such a cutie. I wanted to make her some meals she could freeze and eat next week.

For the moms what were some meals that still tasted good after being frozen?

Also keep in mind I am not the best cook, so they should be somewhat easy.

Re: Meals for a new mom

  • I'm not a mom, but lasagna is always good frozen. And it's pretty easy to make.
  • I'm not a mom either, but I've done things like lasagna, stuffed shells, baked ziti, etc.

I just made pulled pork for the first time a few weeks ago, and froze some.  I took it out of the fridge this morning for lunch and it froze really well.

Also, there's a blog www.freezehappy.com that has some recipes that freeze well.

  • By the way - congrats on becoming a new aunt!  I did frozen meals (and diapers) for both of my SIL's and one fo them was literally in tears when I brought the food over because she said everyone was coming over with little outfits and I was the first person who had brought her something that she could actually use (most of the cute outfits never got worn).

  • Just a thought - I really appreciated snacks and breakfasts that were brought for me. When you have a new baby sometimes you forget to eat and it's nice to have something that you can just grab and go.

Other things that freeze nicely are soups, stews, and chilli.
