I am a medical mystery

I went to the doctor today, and after waiting over an hour to actually talk to my doctor, she told me that she is not sure why my body is acting the way it is. In addition, she told me she plans on taking my case to an upcoming medical conference to ask questions about because it doesn't make sense. I always wanted to be interesting, I guess this is my chance.

Re: I am a medical mystery

  • The good thing is, I'm not feeling sick or anything, but it's been an issue that has been ongoing since February, and I'm ready to stop getting blood drawn and taking different medications and getting my hopes up. M
  • Ugh I am so sorry Belkis. I'm sure that has to be incredibly frustrating. I hope they figure it all out soon.

  • That sucks. I feel your pain, I have to get blood drawn every 4-6 weeks to keep an eye on my thyroid as well as ultrasounds every 6 months on my thyroid and girly bits. It's fun. Have they checked your thyroid levels?

They checked my thyroid back in May, but they want to double-check. My mom essentially does not have a thyroid anymore, so those issues do run in my family.

My dad and sister both have hyperthyroidism.  While mine is high, it's on the high end of "normal" so they won't treat it. Even though I suffer from most common symptoms. Stupid PCM.
