Sick pup: stool sample question (somewhat gross)

Hi ladies!  My pup and I had to pay a visit to the vet today... he needed a stool sample and wasn't able to get one during our visit, so he sent me home with a baggie and I'm supposed to take the sample tomorrow.  Problem is, her stools are not firm at all...they are all liquid.  She just went and we got what we could, but it is pretty much just coating the side of the little bag.  How much do they need for a stool sample?  I know I should have asked this at the vet, but it didn't cross my mind.

Thanks!

  • I've had this problem before and in my experience they are able to work with a small amount. I'd keep what you have but try again in the morning to get a little more. Use another baggie if you have to and then just give them both of the baggies.
