Bye, bye Fort Wayne!

Hello Albuquerque!

Ok, so I've been kind of a creeper and have been reading your posts but haven't had much time to respond or anything!  The house is nothing but boxes and piles of stuff, and we're picking up the trailer on Monday!  I cannot wait to be on the road!

You guys are getting your gardens started and what-not and I'm completely jealous!  It's still raining over here!  Anyway, maybe one of these days I'll get to be a participating member on this board... once we're unpacked! And then GTG housewarming/lets have a bottle of wine to celebrate party!

    Happy moving!!!

    See you soon...

  • Good luck on the move!
  • Hi I don't normally post on this board but I noticed your husband is AF so is my hubby, we are stationed at KAFB too so if you have any questions let me know.  Are you going to live on base?
  • Safe travels! Feel free to post away!

  • Well, after two grueling days on the road, two days camping (in the back of my Suburban!), and two days of house-hunting we found a place and are pretty comfortable now (minus the boxes)!

We found a great little place about 2 miles north of Old Town, I think it's technically NW.  We were thinking about living on base but wanted to look around and I fell in love with this place.  Little backyard, my own garden, two fireplaces and right on the trails that follow all the uh, for lack of a better word, drainage ditches.  My landlord keeps calling them, "asekia's" but I'm pretty sure I just butchered that spelling.

Anyway, I tried to post pictures from the road but my rolli-ball on my blackberry decided to fall out and disappear.  It was tough at first, and the withdrawal symptoms were awkward but I made it through. Wink

Today is hubby's first day of work and we hardly slept we were both so excited.  Anyway, until I get a job I'm home by myself (and we only brought one vehicle! yikes!) so expect to hear more from me!

Thanks for all the travel mercies, I'm so glad we're here!  Hope I get to meet you all soon!

Glad you found a splace to stay that you love.  I love the North Valley - which is where you are.  And not to bad on acequia - it's a pretty tricky word.  And I call the drainage ditches, too. or laterals.
