Gone Too Far w/DJ AM

Has anyone else watched this show? I just found some of the episodes on Comcast On Demand & began watching them. It's pretty heartwrenching & I was in tears by the end of the first episode I watched (epi #5). Watching Adam (AM) sympathize with these people, I can't help but wonder if filming this series was somewhat of a trigger to the relapse OD that killed him. Thoughts?

I found a NYT article about this very topic:

Re: Gone Too Far w/DJ AM

  • I saw the first episode and I thought that he was a good person to be doing the show. Since he's been there and been through it all before, he knows what addicts are going through and feeling. I think a lot of good would have come from him had he not passed.

I wish we knew what actually triggered his OD, obviously there are theories, but no one will ever know for sure. Its truely a tragic loss.

Agreed. He was helping people privately before the reality show was filmed. You can see the pain on his face as he listens to the addicts' stories & empathizes with them and the families. I just wonder if it was particularly hard for him to watch the footage of the addicts using.

Of course it's all speculation & we'll never know the answer. Watching the show had a more profound effect on me than I ever imagined & I truly feel sad that he's gone.
