Austin Nestie has a totally random question

My DH and I are traveling to Guthry, OK on Friday for a family reunion.  Fun stuff. :)  We are planning on leaving out of Guthry on Saturday, around 5ish and heading back to Austin.  We were wondering if any of you ladies might know of good places on the way home to stop, maybe campout, etc.

Suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Austin Nestie has a totally random question

  • Guthrie isn't that big.  The halfway point from OKC to Dallas is Ardmore and there are a ton of hotels/restaurants in that area.  I know Austin is after Dallas but look there or there is a really cute Bed and Breakfast in Suplhur that you should check out.  I am not sure about campgrounds though.  Page gingerfeathers for the name of the BB because I am drawing a blank.  Sorry, not much help!

The B&B in Sulphur is Echo Canyon Manor. It's fabulous!

If you want to camp, there are several places around that area. It's the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. DH and I have camped there several times. Unfortunately, it's been a couple of years so I can't recall the specifics on various campgrounds.

Yep, that's the B&B we love! I think the website is www.echocanyonmanor.com. And it's also close to Turner Falls, which is a great area.

  • I second Turner Falls. Anywhere in the Arbuckle mountains would be pretty.
