What? Is it off a minute or something?

  • No. It randomly jumps ahead by 2 months and the time will change. If it's 7am on 12/20 in reality, the clock will show 5:30 pm on 2/20/15.

  • @revjen, did you adopt a new ghost?

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

  • I keep touching the toes of my foot that is in a cast in order to make sure I can still feel it. I'm irrationally terrified that I'm going to lose my foot even though it hurts like a bitch and I can definitely feel that!

  • I forgot about the office potluck until it was too late this morning. I'm going to eat anyway and hope no one asks what I brought.
Just say chips if anyone asks.  There are always about 20 bags of tortilla chips at all of our office potlucks.  I am so sick of office potlucks.  My coworker is potluck crazy and wants to have one on what seems like a weekly basis.  I don't get it.  Can't we all just chip in $ and order something delivered.  Its cheaper, doesn't take up my free time to make and usually tastes better.  Plus I don't trust all of the hygiene habits of my office mates.  I don't know if I want to eat food they prepared.

Maybe your ghost friend is changing it and telling you something will happen on those days.

I don't think so. I haven't felt anything in the house.

Seems much more creative than Hubs answer. :)

We actually told Betsy that we wanted her to stay in the old place. It's her home and we didn't feel right about bringing her with us, as much as we would have loved her to.

We were recording and just as I said that, the recorder shut off. It's never done that before.

  • My son slipped and mentioned that they got me boots for Christmas. He's only 3. This scares me because I think they went to Tractor Supply and I specifically asked for L.L. Bean duck boots, which are not carried by Tractor Supply. :( I am a brat, I know.

  • Today is my last day of work before the holidays. We have a brunch at 9:30, and I hope they let us go a few hours early. At which point I hope to go home and do nothing for the rest of the day.

  • Madison (and her chorus group) is singing the National Anthem at our local AHL's hockey game tonight. I am super excited to see her, but dreading having to be out another night. I wish I could go home after work.

My life would be so different if my job wasn't crazy during December.  I wonder what that life would be like?

I have one of those security floodlights that comes on when there's movement in my backyard.  When I pulled into the driveway the other night, I noticed the light came on in the back.  Without any regard for my own safety (this is typical), I went running to the backyard to confront our "intruder."  Turned out it was a possum moseying around near my grill.

I honestly said, "You win," and walked away.
My luck it would have been a skunk, and I would have paid for my bravery for days.

At my house that could very well be a black bear and I would stupidly do exactly what you did.

  • Not really a confession, but I've given up trying to keep the cats out of the tree. There's a broken branch now (fake tree) and half of the ornaments on the bottom of the tree are gone. They are currently trying to unwrap the gifts and/or steal bows every time I leave the room. Whatever.

Confession: You can donate to my workplace on Amazon Smile, but I still donate to St. Jude Children's hospital. My work is amazing and we help a lot of people, and are nonprofit, but I don't care because I signed for them to automatically take a portion of my paycheck as a donation. But whenever anyone at work mentions it I smile and nod that I donate to them.

  • I'm late on this but...I dropped and shattered the front of my new iphone a week after I got it.  Instead of being an adult and telling DH about it, I bought a new case that covers the cracks (they are at the bottom) and plan on replacing the glass as soon as it isn't crazy expensive.  I know he means well but he's constantly telling me I need to be more careful with my phone and I just don't want to deal with it.

  • ((Tuesday confessions))
I told my family I had to work from the office today (I typically WFH unless I have meetings) because all of them are driving me BSC and I end up running errands for them instead of getting my work done, which means I end up doing my work at 10pm.  Not cool.  So naturally I'm at work goofing off.
