Our cat, Lola, is an indoor cat - both because we prefer it and because she's afraid to go outside. The next door neighbor's cat is an outdoor (more of an escapee from the house than them letting him out), and seems to enjoy lounging on our deck. This was fine when we first moved in, and then he discovered Lola sitting in a window this summer. It was warm enough that we had the air off and windows open, and we heard Lola go into a hissing rampage, only to find her throwing a fit while looking out on the deck - at the neighbor's cat. Lola's been fixed, and after letting him have it that night, you'd think he'd get lost, but no. He continued to come back for the rest of the summer and fall, and even scratched open small holes in the window screen where she regularly sits. Being winter in Indiana, we haven't seen him since October/November, but I'm dreading spring. I've talked to the neighbor, who said she'd try to keep him in, but this cat is an escape artist and pops out the screens on their front porch window to get out. I don't know what to do to keep him away from our girl, who obviously wants nothing to do with him, especially if we're going to have to start replacing screens on the house because of him.
