Tampa Area OB/GYN Recommendations?

Hi, all!  I am a Nest old-timer, but brand new to the Tampa area (we will be living in Valrico).

Anyway, I am looking for recommendations for a great OB/GYN in the area.  I'd prefer someone affiliated with Tampa General Hospital, but it's not essential.  TIA!!

Re: Tampa Area OB/GYN Recommendations?

  • You have the most amazing OB/GYN very close.  I am part of Tampa Bay Womens Care and saw Dr. Joseph Saavedra two weeks ago.  He is awesome.  I'm currently seeing Dr Amoroso (same group) and like her too.  I had never been to a male OB but had to see him due to Dr A being out that day.  I'm thinking of switching to Dr Saavedra because I liked him so much.

  • I know that Dr A delivers at St Josephs Womens Hospital.  I'm not sure where Dr S delivers.
  • Thanks, MrsJWeaver!  Appreciate the quick reply!  :)
  • i delivered at st.joes and it was a great hospital.  my SIL delivered at tampa general and it didnt look near as nice.  her room was sorta dirty, which grossed me out.

anyway, i went to partners in ob/gyn (they have you see all of their drs...there are 8) they have an office on w. virginia ave (number is 813.872.8551) and one on w. fletcher ave (number is 813.908.2229)

  • Thanks for the info, saraandmichael!  I saw that Tampa General just opened a new women's center (sounds like they needed it!), which caught my interest.  But St. Joseph's sounds great, too!

Sorry 'bout my effed-up siggy.  Works great in the old post format (I'm usually on BOTB), but apparently not so well on this format.  Ugh.

  • I live in Valrico too!  And I go to Women's Care off of Parsons Ave. right across from the Brandon Regional Hospital and they are great!!

  • I work at TGH but haven't had the chance to see the new L&D suites. I've heard they're nice though! My OB/GYN is Dr Zakhary and he delivers there. I've heard St Joe's is nice, too.
  • My friend just delivered at tampa general and the room was nice everything was new flat screen tv etc... very nice!!

    ??

  • Thanks for the TGH replies!  I am a sucker for new and fresh, and the commercials totally got me.  I'm not even pregnant, but here I am planning in advance...what a nerd!  :)
