Do you have earthquake or flood insurance?

When I got insurance for our house, they required me to add earthquake to our policy. Anyone else have this?

We're on a lake but they didn't require flood insurance and now I'm wondering if we should drop earthquake and add flood.

Re: Do you have earthquake or flood insurance?

  • We have flood and earthquake both.  They didn't charge much for the earthquake insurance so we decided to get it for peace of mind.  Arkansas has fault line running throught it and it is only a matter of time before we get one.
  • I would definately keep the earthquake and add the flood insurance.  We have had several "small" earthquakes within the last 5-10 years so I think it is a smart insurance to hang on to.  You never know when we will get a big one.
