What did you read this month? How was it? How are you doing on your yearly goal?

Re: What did you read in APRIL?

  • OMG this month was crazypants for many reasons, and I only read TWO books. Ugh.

Where Things Come Back - John Corey Whaley
This Is What Happy Looks Like - Jennifer E. Smith

    They were both really good.

I'm at 20 for the year so goal is 52, so I'm 4 books ahead despite my sad month.

  • My Life Next Door - 4 stars
The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden - 3 stars
The Edge of Never - 5 stars
    Shatter Me - 2 stars
    Outlander - 3 stars

I've read 22/75 books for my yearly goal, which according to GR puts me 2 books behind schedule. Gotta pick it up!

    my read shelf:
Jessica's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • A Feast for Crows and a A Courtesan's Guide to Getting Your Man, both four stars. No goals, just fun.
My favorite place on earth: The Amargosa Valley.
  • I've been on a reading rampage because I can only imagine how much my reading time will drop once this little munchkin arrives.

    In April, I have read:

The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines series, #3) by Rachelle Mead: 3 stars. I was hoping to love this series as much as I love The Vampire Academy but it just isn't doing it for me.

Everything Is Perfect When You're A Liar by Kelly Oxford: 3 stars. Hilarious. She was one of the first people I started following on xanga 10 years ago and I follow her on twitter now. She makes me laugh.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes: 5 stars. Amazing story. Highly recommend.

Home Again by Kristin Hannah: 3 stars. Good but predictable.

7- An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess by Jen Hatmaker: 5 stars. It really made me think and evaluate the different "excess" in my life.

I'm in a reading slump right now and need to snap out of it. I think I might do a Divergent/Insurgent reread.

  • I had a good month. I read 6 books

    The Witness- Nora Roberts

    Shock Wave- John Sandford

    Vengeance in Death- JD Robb

    Caught - Harlan Coben

I liked them all. Hopeless, Caught and Divergent were my 4 stars

I am still 2 books behind on my goal of 65 though.

Follow my SK blog as I reread the entire SK library (again!):
  • I only read two.

Requiem by Lauren Oliver- 4 stars

I am Messanger by Markus Zusak- 4 stars

I liked both and they were number 12 and 13 for the year.  My goal is only 25 for the year so I'm a little ahead despite my slow as nails pace.

  • This was a pretty good month for me, even though I'm so busy. I really wanted to finish The Round House in time, and my library ebook expired :(

Insurgent - I really enjoyed this A LOT more than the overhyped Divergent. Tris and Four got a bit annoying, but the plot was exciting and kept me reading. ****

Before I go to Sleep - Ugh. It was mediocre. You can read my review on Goodreads to know why.  * 1/2

The One and Only Ivan - This was a very cute and very fast read. I will probably read this to my future kids.  ****

The Perk of Being a Wallflower - I just don't have good luck with super hyped up books. It was ok. I feel like I would have believed it more had Charlie been 10 years old. ** 1/2

Wonder - AMAZING. My favorite read of the month. Sweet, funny, uplifting, smart...I loved every page and could have read 700 more.  *****

    14/61...I'm 5 books behind.
