Work Holiday Party Help

We are doing a gift exchange at my office party in a couple of weeks. The limit is $10...my plan is just do a local restaurant giftcard but wanted to see if anyone had more creative ideas? It's hard since it's a random mix of people so I think a giftcard is safest...I don't want a Dr. to end up with a wacky gift lol.

Re: Work Holiday Party Help

  • A gift card for a restaurant, gas, movie, coffee is a great idea. I remember at a work pot luck a few years ago either Lindt or Giardella chocolates were a big hit!

  • Fancy chocolates or a bottle of wine!  People love candy & booze.

  • Starbucks or Itunes cards seem to go over well too.
  • I think gift cards are good when shopping for a group since you don't really know who will get the gift. Also I like the idea of chocolates or candy. A coffee basket would be good too with like a travel mug in it maybe a thing of hot chocolate or something like that.

  • When I worked in the bank we used to do this type of party.  I remember the restaurant, starbucks, and gas cards were a huge hit.  Also, someone made a basket full of homemade goodies (cookies, fudge, chocolate, etc) and that was a HUGE hit.  Course, I think they did this after work and everyone was starving!
  • I like giftcards..but I agree they are not very "fun." What I usually do in this kind of situation is get the gift card and add a bag of wrapped M&M's or other small hard candies/mints so that they still have something to "open" right away thats kind of fun/edible/shareable.
