After having a horrible and scary run last week where I became incredibly dizzy, my vision was blurry and had to walk the end of my 12 miler, I took a few days off. And maybe there is something to this whole "rest" thing.
I am a pretty slow runner (usually about 10:20-10:30 min/mile), so when I started my easy jog at 10:22, I was happy, then 10:06, 9:20, 9:39 (dogs were literally dragging behind me at the end). Even our "walk it out" mile was 11 mins.
Tonight I went out and decided to just stay lose and have fun, and ran an average 9:36 for 4 miles!
I don't know what clicked, but I'm feeling strong and fast and not at all out of breath. I've also taken your suggestions and tried to add more salt every day, especially right before I run. Who would have thought that I could not only run longer distances than my dogs, but WAY fast than them, too! I'm hoping this reflects my finishing time at my half in 2 weeks!
