NJ Ladies--talk tome about property taxes

Hi Ladies!

So, my husband and I are looking into to moving to south jersey. we are both NE Philly born and bred and currently live less than a mile away from the betsy ross bridge, so NJ would be our easiest next step.  we are looking to moveto Cinnaminson, Cherry Hill, or Delran. we probably won't move for another 2-3 years or so, but i am one of those people who likes to see whats out there.

One huge thing we noticed was how high the property taxes are...so if you dont mind me asking about how much do you pay a year?

 TIA!!!

Re: NJ Ladies--talk tome about property taxes

  • I live in a small borough in a 3 story corner townhome and we pay about $5K in taxes.  Our borough is one of the most expensive in terms of taxes in Camden County.  We're small and have very little business tax income so it falls on the property owners.

We can always check the property taxes on this website.

I'm from NE Philly as well.  I went to Our Lady of Ransom for grade school.  Where did you go to school?

Oh man small world! What do you think of the "merger"?

I moved to South Jersey in between 8th and 9th grade.  I probably would have ended up at Northeast if we didn't move.  I had a few friends from grade school end up at St. Basil though.

  • My grandmom still lives in resso's parrish; her neighbor's son who has a daughter a Resso was talking to her before Christmas and he mentioned that resso had gotten "rough" and another little girl had punched his daughter at recess, so they were thinking of putting her in St. Cecila's next year.

The neighborhoods are really starting to change and although Resso's enrollment is still pretty high, apparently its getting to be too much to handle, so who knows what will happen with the merger? I feel bad for all these kids and the teachers though! a friend who teaches told me that ALL the teachers in each and every parochial school in the Archdiocese will need to reapply for their job.

It really is a small world! both my parents are Northeast grads Smile

They really are.  It's sad.  My neighborhood was great growing up...by the time we moved our neighbor had been mugged at the top of the block and it's gone down hill ever since.
