  • Too bad I don't have an island.  H really doesn't want one, says it will close off the open space.  I guess we could put it in one day in the future if he changes his mind.

  • That's really pretty!  Can we make this a PIP "I want this kitchen thread?"
  • That is beautiful.  The island totally works in this open plan. I agree that sometimes kitchens with islands - especially older, redesigned kitchens - can look/feel cramped.  But this one is wonderful; it would be well worth always having to keep it spotlessly. lol.

  • It seems every home in my area built past 2000 has that kitchen.  It's pretty, but to me it has become cookie cutter.

  • I have zero imagination and this is one cookie cutter kitchen I'd really love!

I just hate my current kitchen so much it hurts.

  • When I think cookie cutter kitchen I think white cabinets with black granite.  This one has more warmth and I like the open layout.

I really like this one. I doubt I would commit to that much color on the cabinets but it's better than white or brown wood.

I pinned this kitchen on Pinterest for the charcoal cabinets.  I don't like how they have them with a beige floor and cream island - and I *hate* the two-different-color-cabinets trend - but I really like the charcoal, and the patterned backsplash.

Yes.  My kitchen is smaller, so I agree I think it would cramp the space.

  • Call me unimaginative but I don't get the two-toned wood/countertop island thing either.  I'd rather have it be matchy matchy.

  • dexter- I like that pinned photo! Everything but the floor. I even like the two-toned cabs and island.

That floor does not go. It's like they ran out of cash.

You could wash the babe in there!? I hear they are pricey.

  • Our contractor said farm sinks start at about $500 for a low end one and up to a few grand.  Gulp.

  • Wow.  Y'all like really formal kitchens.

Most of these are NMS at all.

    Let me look . . .

ETA- OK  These are more my style- cozier and warmer.

  • Farmer-

SD's mother did her kitchen in your OPs color scheme. It is beautiful.

  • Really nice.  We are in the works picking out kitchens ourselves..something like that wouldn't go with the house since just basic raised ranch, hoping to get a gallery kitchen in the next house.

  • It is really beautiful.

I loved remodeling our kitchen.  I loved looking at all the photos out there, and trying to imagine how it would look in our own house.

  • I was coming in to pip a christopher peacock kitchen. gl beat me to it.  the charcoal does have me thinking.  would that be too wild for resale?  it'd stay a lot cleaner than white.

I don't think charcoal is wild. But maybe I'm in the minority- I don't like white kitchens, I think they look cold and sterile.
