Who blows up balloons?

I really want to buy ladybug balloons and Party City doesn't have them so I have to pay .69 and up per balloon.  My Dollar Tree will do Mylar but not latex, any other thoughts of places?

Re: Who blows up balloons?

  • Craft stores? I don't know if they do, but it seems like they would.
  • Confused.  You want latex balloons to buy somewhere?  Or, you have some ladybug latex balloons and you need a place to blow them up?

  • I'm trying to figure out the same thing.  I bought balloons on Amazon so I'll need to find a place or buy one of those little helium tanks.  My Dollar Tree told me they won't blow up any balloons that you didn't buy there!  I've heard that you can check your grocery stores too.

OK so Party City will charge you $.69 per balloon?

I know we have a helium tank and blow up balloons but not sure how much we'd charge a non-employee to blow them up.  You could try a flower shop.  Or, you could check into a small tank to get (I know when I was buying M's birthday stuff they had them on the site) and do it yourself.  It's a PITA though so you might just want to pay the $.69 and call it a day.

  • Check with your grocery store. They might be able to blow them up for a little price.

  • My grocery store does latex for .55 and mylar for 1.99.  I'll take the mylar to Dollar Tree, he said .50 for mylar there.
  • You can purchase those tanks at Party city and even costco, hobby lobby, michaels and blow them up yourself.

  • I know we've purchased (or maybe rented) a tank in the past.  It was really simple to use and that way you might save some money.

  • To rent a tank from where we are getting tables at is $40 and to buy a small one is like $30 I think.  I don't have that many balloons.

Holy moly, the florist we use for every told me $1.25 a piece to start, what?!

For reference, at my nieces party, BIL got 30 regular colored helium balloons to decorate with, and 1 ladybug balloon from the grocery store and the total was $40+.  If you just buy the balloons and the tank, the total might be around the same.

  • Can you buy a tank & fill them up yourself?

  • I'm surprised your Party City charges so much.  I think ours were much less per balloon - granted we only had one mylar and the rest were latex.

  • Maybe try Kroger - they might be able to blow them up for you.

  • You can buy a mini helium tank at walmart.  The only thing I don't like about it is it's not recyclable or reuseable and it seems like waste.  But, a couple of my friends have bought it since there's no place within 40 minutes of our house will blow up balloons.

  • I know this is old post but my Dollar Tree said no on my balloon request as I didn't  buy it there.
