What did you do this weekend?

Friday evening, I went out for drinks with friends and met the new boyfriend of one of them. (He was awesome!). Then, I stayed in a hotel room while H had fraternity guys over for the initiation of the new guys and I slept for 12 hours.

Yesterday, I went to lunch and then shopping with my sister, and she bought some of those Vibram 5-finger shoes. I want them now! Then caught up with H and the DVR.

Today, we're going steam cleaner shopping, since ours keeps breaking. We plan to watch The King's Speech tonight.

Tomorrow we're going to lunch and then the Paseo arts festival after H sees a client.

Busy weekend for me--how about you?

Re: What did you do this weekend?

  • Friday night, we went to get haircuts and then went and hung out with my brother for a bit before he left Saturday to move to Tennessee.

Yesterday we went to the Paseo Festival.  It was really hot, but we listened to some amazing spoken word poetry and DS really enjoyed looking at all of the art.

Today we're going to a cookout/pool party hosted by some new friends of ours.

Tomorrow DS and I are going out the ILs to hang out, maybe swim.  (DD is with her dad this weekend, and H is going to Tulsa to train someone at another shop since they offered him several hundred dollars to go and we're trying to save as much as we can before our closings.)

Friday - came home and slept while H went to the driving range. I woke up and H made me fajitas.

Saturday - we went to cafe do brasil for lunch. then h and I went to register for stuff. yikes. H decided to have some fun and register for random things - or anything cute. then I went to dsw and bought some shoes. ate some dinner at home. then went to the driving range with h.

Today I have been cleaning out the guest room (sister living with us for the summer - intership). I have also been deleting things off the registry.

  • I had Friday off of work so I spent most of the day cleaning like a mad woman.  I have been out of town a ton and our house was soo nasty.  I dusted, cleaned baseboards, vaccumed like mad; not only did my house look great but I *feel* great.

DH had to work yesterday morning so I started to paint our guest room.  When DH got home from work, we hung around in bed and napped.  Then had a random dinner out with Snowful and her SO which was pretty awesome.

Today we hung out at the pool and finished the guest bedroom. I also bought the stuff to style our new bathroom - I am pretty pumped.  We also taught Dasher how to swim - she is so cute.

Finally, tomorrow we are having some of DH's fraternity brothers over to cook out.  They are all bringing their dogs - our first official puppy playdate!

  • Oh, not much.  Closed on the land I was buying to eventually build a house on and then I got engaged.  Typical weekend stuff.

EEEEE! That's so exciting!! Congratulations!! Details, please!

As for my weekend, yesterday we hung out with my folks at their house, swam, and had grilled chicken. It was really nice and laid-back. Today I was supposed to see some of my best gals, but one of them got really sick, so we're going to reschedule. Instead I've been reading and working. Tomorrow I might do a little window shopping to give H some uninterrupted time to get some work done.

  • Well, we had talked about a way to celebrate the closing on the land, which is fairly anticlimactic (or so I thought!) if you don't plan to build for a couple of years, so we decided to have a picnic there after closing.

We were looking out at the awesome view and I said "Look, it's the view from our future living room!" and he agreed "Yeah, it's almost perfect"  I asked what would be better because I thought it was pretty perfect when he said "if you'll marry me."  I looked at him and he was holding the ring.

Wendy, this is just lovely. :D I am so delighted for you!! (And completely envious of your land purchase, by the way) Yay yay yay!

  • Friday, we had a photoshoot with JLimberg, which was awesome! After that, we went out to dinner and saw Hangover II. Saturday we did our house chores then headed to my moms house to layout by the pool. H decided to throw together a lunch to grill and we ended up having the most delicious mahi mahi. Sunday we went grocery shopping and cleaned my car. I also put a lot of study time in for my national registry exam.

  • Congrats Wendy--that sounds perfect!

Friday was our 6 year anniversary and we all went to eat at a local place for dinner.  Nothing exciting but it was nice spending it with my happy little family. :)

Saturday we headed down to my parents' lake house and spent all day on the water, my parents cooked a big dinner for us and my grandparents and then they left so H, B and I could spend the night there alone.  It was glorious.  I woke up the next morning, watched the sun rise on the water from the porch and ate a big breakfast.

Today we got home from the lake, took a long afternoon nap, went to church this evening, and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner.  Watched 16 & Pregnant on the DVR after unsuccesfully trying to play the BluRay disk we rented on our player.  (DVD issue...blah)

Tomorrow we're going to clean house, take a long nap, and cook dinner for my next door neighbors.  He lost his mom last week and the funeral is Tuesday.  It was unexpected and I feel awful for them.

  • Aw...congrats Wendy!!

Had an insane day at work on Friday [enrollment kicked my @ss last week], then drove home for the weekend. Got my first four mosquito bites of the year while going out to get buffalo wings for dinner. Boo.

Ran errands on Saturday - probably would've stayed out longer if it hadn't been insanely hot out. By 11:30, it was cracking 100 degrees, and we just went home. Hung out, watched movies, took a four-hour nap...nice, quiet afternoon and evening.

Yesterday, ran the rest of my errands. My mom and I did our Memorial Day cooking a day early, so she covered food while I covered dessert. Ate way too much food and watched the extended version of the last Lord of the Rings. Took like, four hours, but totally worth it. I just finished it and am about to head to bed.

Today, I desperately need to get my nails done. I'll pay bills, maybe grab a few more groceries and head back north for the week.

What a beautiful proposal!  Congrats again!  I am SO happy for you!

  • Friday we went to a friends birthday party. Saturday we went to Eskimo Joe's for lunch. Sunday we went to a friends and watched the NASCAR race and cooked out. Today we may take the boat to the lake for some fun in the sun.
  • Friday I took the day off and cleaned the house and did laundry. Yay, lol!

Saturday DH rode the the Tour de Meers. I puttered around the garden and then we went to the library later and watched the Parking Wars marathon that evening.

Sunday we went to church, got some groceries, and I took a long nap while DH caught up on his Formula One race on DVR. We were pretty much lazy all day.

Today we went to a BBQ at my ILs. I ate like a piggy!

  • Saturday DH and I went to the Paseo Arts Festival. I bought a new glass pendant and matching earrings- everything else I liked was out of my price range!

Sunday I spent cleaning and weeding the garden. My vegetables are looking good!

Today I did some more cleaning then spent some time online. My 20% REI coupon expires today, so I had to buy something on their site. Big Smile Tonight we're going to grill some steaks.

  • @WendyToo Congrats!

H and I went to the IL's in Little Rock this weekend. Saturday, hiked around a few places outside of LR, and went to Garvan Gardens just outside of Hot Springs. GG was really gorgeous, btw. I highly recommend it if you're ever in that area.

Sunday, H and I attempted to go shopping, but were mostly unsuccessful since it was, y'know, Sunday. We all went out to dinner at this great Indian food place, and I was relieved to find out that, unlike the last time I had Indian food, I didn't wind up violently ill. H and I went to see 'Bridesmaids' after dinner, and both loved it.

Today was mostly spent driving back to OKC. I watered the flowers, and H did some cleaning up in the backyard. I should do a little cleaning and put some clothes away, but meh. Going to be paying for eating so well this weekend at the gym this week, and already not looking forward to it.

  • Friday, my back started hurting horribly. I have arthritis in my lower back. My hip and other things pop out of place sometimes. It's annoying. I didn't let it stop me though. I just walked slow and had DH help me do a lot of stuff. On a positive note, we bought a new fridge. Our current one is awful. I can't wait till the new one comes in. Then, we went to a birthday party for both of my nieces. They are so cute! After the party, we watched Bridesmaids.

Saturday, we ran some errands, watched Hangover II, and hung out at he house.

Sunday, we went to church, met H's parents for lunch, went to a baby shower, and I got a new phone.

H had to work Monday. I went to my parent's house. We grilled steaks and chicken. It was delicious. I cleaned up the house a bit when I got home, but didn't do as much as I needed to.

  • I've been at the lake since last Tuesday with my mom's extended family and just got 'home' yesterday (I stayed with my great grandma last night) and will be heading home, home in a couple hours. My time at the lake was spent doing a whole lot of nothing. We played games (Phase 10, Chicken Foot, Skip-Bo, etc), went to some garage sales, visited with the family, read some books, cooked out and were basically just lazy It was so nice. We do it every single year and have for, at least 67 years. I've never missed a year since I was born. I'm already looking forward to next year.

    Sixth Anniversary

Congratulations to Wendy! What a sweet story.

We spent much of the weekend in Texas visiting friends and family. We did stop at Meers on our way down to meet up for lunch with some friends that were camping in the Wichita Mtns.  It was crowded!

  • Congrats, Wendy!! That's so exciting!

We spent the weekend RVing with the ILs in Arkansas (Fort Smith Lake). It was pretty fun!

Saturday: We slept in, went on a nice long hike, had fajitas for dinner, sat around and talked.

Sunday: Went on a super looooong mountain biking expedition at Devil's Den. But the trails were in bad shape from the recent floods. The trails were covered with rocks and fallen trees and high creeks. We pretty much went on a 4 hour hike-your-bike trip lol. My arms are so sore. Then we went down to Fort Smith for dinner. Then we had a campfire (I've washed my hair 3 times since then and it still smells like a campfire! Ugh...)

Monday: drove home, did some laundry, went to the mall, went to dinner, watched a movie.

  • Friday, we hung out at home. Got laundry finished and did a little bit of cleaning to get by until sometime this week.

Saturday, we went out to Lake Thunderbird (it was extra dirty.. haha.) and went boating on my step-dad's new boat with my sis and her bf, our family of four, my H sister came down to join us. We had a lot of fun and got burnt.  After we went back to my parents and had a cook-out with more friends.

Sunday, I slept in cause I did not feel good Saturday night. Then we got up and met some friends at Frontier City. We promised step-children we would take them and it was busy, but fun!

Monday, my sweet H got up and went and mowed my parents yard (10 acres and he got most of it done) since they let us use the boat and are so nice and giving.  I got step-kids ready and took SS's friend home and we went out there and cooked for my parents.  Came home around 4 and relaxed on the couch for the rest of the evening.

It was a good weekend, but I could use another day off! I am still tired!

  • Friday night was date night for us. We were both really tired so we decided just to go eat a great dinner and then we spent the night at home.

Saturday I tried desperately to sleep in since M stayed the night with her grandparents, but I woke up at 7. DH and I went shopping around town. Ate a great lunch at Blackbirds on campus and bought M a new toy to play outside with. I went ahead and got my grocery shopping done and then we went to pick up M. After dinner we went and got snocones and sat outside and watched M play with her new water table. She thought it would be hilarious though to through water on me.

Sunday went to church, came home at lunch, and then got M down for a nap. I did some laundry and cleaning the house. We had the ILs over for dinner. DH grilled chicken and steak and tried out his new pan for the grill. He made the most fantastic grill asparagus, mushrooms, oinions, and bell peppers. After the ILs left we watched a movie w/M before she went to bed.

Monday I actually got to sleep in until 8:30! We went to the ILs for lunch and then came home and just stayed lazy for most of the day.

  • We did a whole lot of nothing, and it was fabulous!  DH had the weekend and Monday off---basically the closest thing he's had to a vacation in over a year.  So happy to have him home!

Friday I did some cleaning and we had dinner at home when DH got home from work.
Saturday I got groceries while DH napped, then picked up some Classic 50's for dinner (pickle o's = YUM).  Then we watched "The Mechanic".
Sunday I met up with my sister and we did some shopping, had lunch, and got sno cones.  Once I got home DH and I had dinner and watched another movie.
Our 2nd anniversary was yesterday, so we slept in, went out to dinner, and spent some quality time together before DH had to go back to work today.
