Extreme couponing

Did anyone see this? INSANE!

The food would expire before I ever thought about using half of it.

Re: Extreme couponing

  • I"m watching it right now.  Here's my thing...  when you have that much extra stuff are you really saving any money?  I understand buying things like paper towels and TP in bulk but salad dressing?
  • I saw the listing when I was setting up a recording for the addictions show. I'll have to try to find it again.

  • Ok... one more thing. Yes, that bottle of soap was $.30 but how much did you save when you bought 90 bottles (I thought I heard him say that's how many he got)?  My thought process would be

"Hey, I can get this soap on sale!  Let me get one for each bathroom/sink/place we wash our hands and then maybe i'll grab a couple of extra just in case I need one." That might add up to 5... maybe.

  • I missed this, but I go on a celebrity gossip blog daily (my secret little addiction) and they were talking about this. I couldn't imagine buying 60 things of hand soap and 1100 boxes of cereal at a time. Maybe if I was the Duggar family with  47292939 million kids.

  • We saw the listing, and DH teased "that's a show about Mommy!" to Jeffery. I told him he had no clue! He likes to give me crap about buying the Sunday paper just for the coupons.

  • When I worked at Target, we had a couple that came in like this.  Turns out they would sell the stuff at the flea market & turn a profit.  They typically bought razors, toothbrushes and other toiletries.
  • Someone I know does this and donates most of it to food banks.

2 of my friends in college did this, but they frequented CVS. And they were always  so secretive about it.

I have no problem with donating, but I don't think the lady needed 100 boxes of pasta in her garage. It is almost like hoarding, but cleaner, well until it rots.

  • That was ... interesting.

The first woman clearly had problems with her couponing addiction.  She would go through the store and write down all the sales?  Did her store not put out a sales flier?  And she would forgo time with her husband and took over his man cave with her stockpile.  He seemed pissed!

The young girl was definitely OCD.  Her husband knew what cereal he could and couldn't eat based on expiration date?

The third lady didn't stand out to me.

The fourth person made the most sense to me with the fact that he actually DONATED a lot of his deals.
