new born puppie no mom help!!!

my grandma had 3 dogs one just had puppies she died giving birth on Tuesday . She had four, two died right away the other boy puppie died a night ago now we just have the cutiest little girl puppie in world ( shes a yorkiepoo).

Okay we took her to the vet today bc she was bleeding were the Umbilical cord was (this just started last nite around 4am). He fixed it but she lost a lot of blood from last night until we took her. vet said she looked healthy. She eating and using the bathroom but less than yesterday.

Okay so any tips? Im in the dark. we are feeding her every 2 hours, we have a heating pad on one side of storage tub and one side with out, one small stuff animal to lay beside (which does its so cute...) washing our hands all the time, and we got puppie formula. are we forgetting anything?

also any happy endings to hand feeding puppies wt no mothers?

TIA

The happy ending is possible.  We kept a kitten alive after his mom had to be hospitalized and the rest of the kittens died. Weigh her at least once a day.  What are you feeding her?  And you're pottying her too, right?  Also, maybe get a humidifier.  Also measure the temperature. Are you warming the milk?

I'm not in the mood to get into the breeding thing though Indifferent

It is PUPPY. Not puppie. Once you fix that I will offer you advice.

Okay so any tips?

Don't breed mutts when there are 11 million being put to sleep every single year because of pet overpopulation? Seems like a much simpler solution to me.

Try the formula on this page: http://leerburg.com/bottlefeeding.htm

I had a lot of luck with it.

I'll bring up the breeding thing. If the mother dog had been fixed it would have prevented her death. Not to mention that there was the potiential to bring - I believe you said 4- puppies into this world when there are plenty of other dogs sitting in shelter waiting for a home. You only take homes away from those dogs. If you were breeding the dog properly the dog should have had vet appointments to check the size of the puppies, check for potiental complications, and to see the number of pups to line up families ahead of time. This puppy is a mutt, not a yorkie-poo. You are only helping to perpetuate the problem with backyard breeding. This dog cannot be bred with another 'yorkie-poo' to create a dog with the same standard charateristics, and it is not recognized as a breed. Good luck with the puppy. I hope you will check out the FAQ's section to learn more.

Honestly, I would follow the advice of your vet.  There are very few of us with experience with this (and those with experience were working with rescues or shelters).

When all is said and done please make sure all of the animals are spayed or neutered.
