Pick up sticks experiment

So I tried to teach Poe to pick up sticks in our backyard this evening. Wanna guess how long it took Poe to figure it out?

About 2 minutes.

I just held a stick and rewarded her for mouthing it. Then I put it on the ground, pointed to it and said "Get it!". She picked it up and gave it to me. I held her, threw the stick a few feet and let her go. Then I pointed to another stick and told her to get it. She got about 6 total before she got a little frustrated so I stopped.

She doesn't know "sticks". But I figured I didn't want her pouncing on every stick she sees so I just did the point and "get it!" which is her generic pick something up for me.

What a goofy little dog.

Jackson: I used to be wild, like the wolf, and now I'm reduced to posing in pink petals for your enjoyment. The joys of domestication
Poe: Here we go once again with the "I was a wild stray..." story. Blah blah blah *eye roll*
