I"m pretty excited about this month's reading.  I'm where I want to be for numbers and page count, I'm reading authors I haven't read before, and not just reading fiction/non-fiction - I'm adding in poetry, and hopefully drama next month.  I would love to finish The Historian tonight and be able to count it toward WBC and books I read this month, but I don't think it's going to happen.

  • I feel like such a slacker.  I only finished 2 books this month --

    Nightshade

    Tourists Are for Trapping.

But in my own defense, my fiance came to the US for his first ever visit and I spent 2 full weeks with him, so reading was the last thing on my mind.  And too, we got married, so I had other things to think about.

After I put him on the flight back, I have been playing catch up at the office.  And I think I have everything under control for my target of 4 books in February.

I don't mind being held to a higher standard; I mind being held to a lower one. (Sam Seaborn, The West Wing)

  • I'm off to a pretty *meh* start, mainly because I have been spending my evenings writing.  I have read:

Got Fight?  Forrest Griffin (FUNNY!  A total mind candy read)

The Bluest Eye  Toni Morrison (beautiful writing but just could not get into the story - I really struggled to get through this one)

I got a few chapters into Stiff by Mary Roach.  Absolutely LOVING this one so far.
