Raleigh Church Rec Needed

I am still in the process of church hunting and am hoping that the nesties can provide some good leads.  Here is what we are looking for:

- Traditional service (we prefer hymns to praise music)

- Protestant (something close in theology to Presbyterian USA- Methodist, Lutheran, etc.)

- Young couples (late 20's early 30's- preferably including some who don't have kids)

-  Good music program (we both might join the choir at some point and if they have handbells that is a huge plus)

- Located in or close to North Raleigh (downtown Raleigh wouldn't be too far)

Know of any churches that might fit this bill??

Re: Raleigh Church Rec Needed

  • I attend a contemporary church.  However, a lot of my friends go to Providence Baptist.  It's more traditional.  I haven't been there myself, so I can't give you my take on the church.  It might not hurt to try it out though.  Good luck finding the right church for you!
    "Christmas 2011"
  • It's southern, southern Baptist (like, in the convention) but Bayleaf Baptist has all of that criteria.
  • We went to Providence for a service when we first moved here. It is very traditional.

We attend a contemporary church now: Hope Community Church (it's non denominational)  If you listen to Bob and the Showgram, it's the church he does to.

    TTC since November 2009.

Currently licensed foster parents with the hope of adopting!

    Currently loving our first placement:

  • I know I'm coming in late, but I've been attending Edenton Street UMC for about a year or so.  I think it fits your criteria.  Its downtown at Edenton St. That's the website.  They have a great young adult council it's filled with people around our age either with or without kids (a good group of both).  The small group Bible studies I do are those this group also.

I usually go to the 10:55 service.  I'll be out of town this week and family in town next and we've planned a family lunch at 1130, but I should be there the following Sunday (10/18).  Let me know if you want to come with/meet me!
