WIJFR: Life of Pi (?Maybe Spoilers?)

I don't know what I think about the end of this book.  I want to think the middle is the right story, because otherwise why spend so much time writing it and explaining it?

I don't think anyone I know IRL has read this.

What do you think?

I was a little thrown off my story options too...but I think the story that is told in such detail must be the actual story...to me it just flows better! :)

  • I hated that book too.  I think it's supposed to be a reason to make people believe in God -- if there are two options, and neither can be proven (or disproven) then why not choose the one that is more fun?  It didn't work for me because I just thought the other option made more logical sense and then I was sad that the entire book was for nothing.

To me, I found more science and evolution in the story than God...based on how primordial and animalistic the relationship became between Pi and the Tiger...how Pi had to learn how to eat like a ancient human did, without tools and help.
