Sasha and Malia Dolls

Michelle Obama's office spoke out against a line of Sasha and Malia dolls, arguing the girls' need for privacy.?

Slate Magazine did an interesting article on this. And, while I agree that it's intrusive, I'd like to see Michelle give structured access to her girls so that young girls in America also have role models besides Miley Cyrus

Re: Sasha and Malia Dolls

  • Good for Michelle.  Just creating them is problematic enough.  The possibilities for misuse make it even worse. (What happens when someone uses it for satire or a voodoo doll? That strikes me as more problematic than just a defaced photograph)
  • i'm glad she said something. when I first heard about them it rang a bit creepy to me...

How is being the daughter of the president a role model for young girls?  I never thought Chelsea or either of the Bush daughters were role models simply because they were the President's daughters.

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this Rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
