I told my H a few weeks ago that I had nothing left to give to our marriage and he agreed to let me and the kids move out.  (The house we had was a family house so there was no way that I could ask him to leave it)  The kids and I moved into a rental house this past weekend and we couldn't be happier.  I am so anxious for the next chapter of our lives to begin.  H and I have agreed to a parenting schedule as well as support payments. I haven't filed for divorce yet...I don't want to hit him with everything at once if he is being amicable about everything so far.  I think he is being so nice about everything in hopes that I will have a change of heart in a few months.

Re: I moved out!!

  • Don't feel like you shouldn't get divorced. It's better to split then to stay in an unhappy marriage. You have to do what is best for you & your kids... if you feel filing is what you really want, no need to wait, just do it. Divorce is so hard & heartbreaking but after it happens it starts to get better when you rid of the people & situations in your life that drag you down. Good luck to you & may it all work out for the best.

Why living in a family home is not a great idea...:(  I don't mean to throw more wood on the fire but t the OP's H should have, by gentlemen's agreement, moved out and let the mother of his kids and his children stay where they were. This would have been in his children's best interest, imo.

(This is why family homes are not a good idea -- I had to partition a family member --- things went bad and it's a long story; we both owned the home.  Family homes are not a good idea because sooner or later, somebody is going to get the shit end of the stick: the OP did, in this case.)
