diarrhea after spay

Our 8mo lab/shepherd was spayed last Thursday.  She was a champ, just vomited once that evening.  However, she has had diarrhea since Saturday night.  Is this a normal occurrence, or should I be looking into other reasons that would cause it?  It just seems so odd that it is delayed.

Re: diarrhea after spay

  • I'd give your vet a call just to make sure, but that wouldn't surprise me.  Although our little girl didn't have diarrhea after spaying, she sure didn't feel good and was in pain for about one week.  But we adopted her when she was 18 months old and was on the older side to be spayed, which is more traumatic.
