Best sewing machine for a newbie?

in my mind, I'm a craft ninja so I've decided I WILL learn how to sew. To that end, what reasonably priced sewing machine would you recommend? Thank you!

Re: Best sewing machine for a newbie?

  • I have a Singer Touch and Sew- I don't think it's one of their current models, but it works well. I've had it for about 7 years and have made baby clothes, kids clothes, kids costumes, quilts, curtains, pillows, and stuffed animals with it. It's easy to thread and it was about $250. There are a lot of models out there with that price range. My mom also has a Singer that she's had for almost 30 years now- still works really well.

I've heard that Janome and Brother are good machines too. GL!
