chocolate fountain

Anyone own one and use it for entertaining?  I'm looking at reviews at 2 kinds at Target.  A cheaper one is $40 and a more pricey one is $100.  This would be for my 30th b-day party.  THen I figured I'd just sell it on Craigslist for SOME of my $ back.  I checked on my local Craigslist already to try to buy one from there, no luck right now.

Any comments on using them or reviews?

Re: chocolate fountain

  • We have one...they're fun but don't try to "take them apart" when they're on or chocolate with go EVERYWHERE, even it you think it's not working ;) Also, it takes a lot of chocolate and you need to thin it sufficiently (we used cream, not oil).

No tips on the ones from target, but ask around because you might have a friend who has one you can borrow for the night. Then just clean it up real good and return it.

  • We have two that we bought from BB&B for $100.  We actually bought one and the lower portion arrived broken, it still worked but it was broken.  But they sent us a brand new one so now we have two that work!!  Like the pp said, you do have to use alot of chocolate and add some oil, or cream.  We plan on using one soon for a cheese fountain.  Good luck, have fun.
