  • How many people? Creme brule, french silk pie (sister made it at T-Day and it was amazing but rich). Hmm... I saw a recipe for a peppermint pie last year, but it was a bomb when I tried to make it. (I can find the recipe, I might have just done something wrong.)

We just like to pick on cookies and candies, no one really eats a main dessert. But that's my weirdo family.

I second this idea. I really enjoyed my Melting Pot experience. Fondue dessert would be nice because it give people choices and it would be interactive. Unless some of them don't like chocolate?

  • My mom always makes this jello cake - for Chrismtas.  Its just a box of cake mix - you have to bake in two cake rounds.  Then you freeze them, poke holes, pour jello (one red, one green) and then frost with whiped cream (I do believe).  I'll be the first to admit that I'm a chocoholic, but I love this cake.  Especially around the holidays where there is so much rich food around.

If you are interested, I'll get the specifics for you, just let me know.

I make them in ramikins for individual servings.

  • I have a recipe for maple pumpkin cheesecake that is awesome! I get raves everytime I make it. Email me if you'd like it.
  • There was one year that we bought white chocolate sleighs (I think you can find them at specialty chocolate stores around this time of year) and filled them with chocolate mousse. It was unique, festive, and absolutely delicious!

If you have kids, you can also have a table set up where guests decorate their own cookies. That's always fun and entertaining.
